It’s true, and many of you have (repeatedly…) pointed it out to me: stfn.ch has been gathering digital dust for a solid five, going on six years or so. The last posts date back to a time when I was still at a different job, lived in a different place, and Twitter was still, well, Twitter.
I’ve wanted to rectify this for a while. My intention isn’t to turn this into a daily news outlet or a constant stream of consciousness. Rather, the goal is to have a place to occasionally share things I find interesting, thought-provoking, or simply worth putting out there into the digital ether. Think of it as a curated collection of snippets, ideas, and maybe the occasional longer reflection.
This revitalization is also partly motivated by the changing landscape of online platforms. While I’ve used Twitter (now X) for quick shares and links in the past, it’s become a less appealing option for various reasons. I also find myself leaning towards a slightly longer format than a tweet or similar allows. A blog, even an irregularly updated one, feels like a more suitable space for the kind of content I want to share.
Don’t expect a daily deluge of content. Updates will be sporadic, driven by moments of inspiration or when I stumble across something I genuinely want to share. Quality over quantity, I guess.
A Quick Note on the Tech:
For those interested in the “under the hood” details, this blog is now powered by Hugo, a fantastic static site generator. It’s incredibly fast, flexible, and makes managing a website like this a breeze.
And a huge shout-out to the developers of the Blowfish theme. It’s beautifully designed, clean, and highly customizable. It’s made the process of getting this blog back up and running surprisingly enjoyable. I can highly recommend the theme.
That’s all for now. Welcome back.
